Somethinaboutlaura, a California-bred millionaire, has been retired from racing.

A true California fixture, Somethinaboutlaura made all 34 of her starts in the Golden State and won 18 of them. Fourteen of those wins came in stakes. She also placed in nine added-money events.

Six-year-old Somethinaboutlaura was a stakes winner from 2005-08. She proved best sprinting, winning the last two runnings of the A Gleam Invitational Handicap (gr. II) at seven furlongs at Hollywood Park.

Somethinaboutlaura started this year with a victory in the Campanile Stakes. After a fourth-place effort in the San Manuel Indian Bingo and Casino Sunshine Millions Filly and Mare Turf Stakes, she ran third in the Santa Maria Handicap (gr. I) and second in the Foster City Handicap in her final race. She retired with earnings of $1,129,365.

By Dance Floor out of the winning It’s Freezing mare Crystals of Ice, Somethinaboutlaura is owned by trainer Jerrry Hollendorfer in partnership with Charles D. Miller, John Sikura, and George Todaro. She was bred by Lilley Ranch.

Somethinaboutlaura is booked to Stormy Atlantic, who stands at Sikura’s Hill ‘n’ Dale Farms near Lexington.
