Haradasun to Coolmore Australia

Dual group I winner Haradasun will enter stud at Coolmore Australia for the 2008 breeding season. The 4-year-old son of Fusaichi Pegasus will stand for AUST$55,000 (about $52,500).

“We're delighted that Haradasun will be joining our lineup of stallions for 2008,” said general manager Michael Kirwan. “Australasian mare owners are looking for suitable stallions free of Danehill, and in Haradasun, we believe that Coolmore can offer the most perfect outcross at the best value fee available for high-class Danehill-line mares.

“Haradasun not only offers a Danehill-free option from the legendary Mr. Prospector sire line, he offers mare owners also the opportunity of line breeding to Danzig and/or Star Kingdom, two of the greatest sire influences in the history of world breeding.”

Australia’s champion 3-year-old colt, Haradasun scored his major wins in last year’s Cathay Pacific George Ryder Stakes (Aust-I) and Emirates Doncaster Handicap (Aust-I). He has won or placed in 14 of 17 races and earned $1,961,222.

Currently in training with Aidan O'Brien in Ireland, Haradasun is being aimed to Royal Ascot’s Queen Anne Stakes (Eng-I). “He has tons of speed and is flying at home,” O’Brien said. “I think the mile at Ascot will suit him well, and I expect him to be very competitive.”

Bred by Arch of Gold Pty Ltd. Syndicate, Haradasun is out of Australian group I winner Circles Of Gold (by Marscay) and is a half-brother to Elvstroem, a champion in Australia and Dubai.
