The eighth National Thoroughbred Racing Association Charities and Kentucky Derby Museum Golf Classic will take place at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville Oct. 6.

Net proceeds from the event will support NTRA Charities and its national affiliate, Ronald McDonald House Charities, along with the Kentucky Derby Museum Klein Family Learning Center.

Named one of the top three new private golf courses in the U.S. in 1987, the first year it was eligible, Valhalla Golf Club remains the No. 1-ranked course in Kentucky and one of "America's 100 Greatest Courses," according to Golf Digest (2005). Valhalla played host to the 1996 and 2000 PGA Championships, and it is also the site of the 2008 Ryder Cup.

The cost is $2,500 for a team of four and includes green fees, cart, use of practice range, box lunch during play, cocktail reception, awards, and player gifts.

Tee-time Oct. 6 will be 12:00 p.m. For registration information or sponsorship opportunities (available at $500-and-up), contact Barbara Fossum of the NTRA at (859) 422-2616, or at bfossum@ntra.com.
