A Sadler’s Wells colt, consigned by John Troy, headlined the Tattersalls December yearling sale Nov. 26 with a selling price of 170,000 guineas ($360,505) . The colt was sold to Demi O’Byrne, acting on behalf of the Coolmore partners.

The colt had been incorrectly cataloged at the Tattersalls October yearling sale, and was returned having been sold to Earle Mack’s Citywest for 280,000 guineas ($593,566) on that occasion.

A Montjeu colt, who missed the Tattersalls October yearling sale, changed hands for 160,000 guineas ($339,180) when offered by Flash Conroy’s Glenvale Stud.

On the day, the gross and average were down but the median rose slightly. For the session, 217 yearlings were offered and 143 sold. The gross was 4,086,300 guineas, the average 28,576 guineas, and the median 15,000 guineas. A year ago, 229 yearlings were offered and 183 sold for 5,533,500, an average of 30,238 and a median of 14,000.

The five-day December foal sale starts Tuesday.
