General Session Ends Weanling Sale

The record-breaking 2008 Magic Millions national weanling sale came to a close Friday on Australia’s Gold Coast with a general session that generated a gross of Aust$496,600 for the 132 yearlings sold. The average price was Aust$3,762, and the clearance rate was 81%.


The top seller of the session was a Falvelon colt that brought $45,000.Magic Millions' New South Wales representative Tony Williams was  the buyer on behalf of New Zealand's Gwent Holdings. Consigned by Glenlogan Park, as agent, the colt is the second living foal of the Danehill Dancer mare Vidance.


"The value at today's sale was second to none," said Magic Millions managing director David Chester. "We had so many wonderful young prospects selling for prices that all buyers could afford."
