Horse of the Year Curlin will face five challengers  when he makes his debut at Nad Al Sheba on Thursday, Feb. 28.

The $175,000 race, the Jaguar Trophy at 1 1/4 miles, will serve as Curlin's final prep for the March 29, $6-million Dubai World Cup (UAE-I), also at 1 1/4 miles. Trained by Steve Asmussen, Curlin is owned by Stonestreet Stables and Midnight Cry Stables.

Among those facing the American star Thursday is Familiar Territory, an impressive handicap winner Feb. 14 for trainer Saeed bin Suroor.

Curlin made his first visit to the Nad Al Sheba starting stalls Tuesday, Feb. 26, which are designed differently from U.S. starting gates. However, he walked straight in without any hesitation, and stayed totally still in the gates before backing out.

Bin Suroor also has Imperialista entered in the Jaguar Trophy, which is rounded out by Arqaam, Engrupido, and Jet Express.
